What are some of the different
approaches to digital pedagogy?
Due to the relatively advanced
technological society we live in today, it has been suggested that education
should be refashioned into a lifelong learning process (Beetham et al., 2009).
To develop a learning literacy, students need to be able to manage the learning
process effectively using the multitude of digital and non-digital resources
that are available to them. Listed
below, are various pedagogic approaches with the key theorists associated:
Learning 2.0 - Downes, Anderson,
Alexander, Walton
Connectivism – Siemens
Communities of enquiry – Wenger,
Garrison and Anderson
Theory/practice, practical
inquiry – Vygotsky and Garrison
Academic apprenticeship – Holme
E-learning, e-pedagogy – Mayes and
Fowler, Cronje
